Is online ruining video games?

ok, so don't go all mad and say i suck for saying this but is it?

I use to have an awesome time playing games with friends, it didn't happen all the time but it was fun.

With online games they take away the feeling that your playing with other people, if they had mp bots in halo or cod would there be any difference between playing against them and playing against anonymous people.

Theirs no edge in online gaming i used to love competing with friends over who is the best but i just can't play online like i can when i can see the person there beside me, knowing that im facing off against someone.

Now online gaming isn't all bad, im not saying that, but sometimes i think about how much funner it was playing this game WITH people.

What do u think? Agree? Am i crazy?

I remember the days of playing Red Faction 2 with friends at home, and no online match will beat that in terms of fun, headsets aren't the same as talking to someone next to you. There were so many other games that were better with friends, that's why the wii is so popular, brings back that enjoyment in this day and age.

you have a point but online gaming is still fun sure u wont see the person u are playing with but u know that they aint a computer and there a real person facing u and u could talk to them

i rember the days where i used to play the n64 those were the real days where you could play games for hours and wouldnt need friends to play with then there was mario party 3 the best party game ever where when you played with friends you didnt compete you actually were just trying to have fun.then there was the gamecube were story mode was the only thing you need in life.

now most games require online to make things more fun.we still have no online games(nintendo wii,ps2) and games like mirror edge.nintendo is really good at making games last.cod series i never play 1-3 but i beat they had good storymodes now these games wouldnt be half as good if there was not any online play.

I remember the days when I would go to my neighbor's house and play 007 goldeneye all day, those were the days but now I don't have to walk across the street which is pretty nice.

well id have to agree with some points, but online game has revolutionized gaming. Imagine playing some of the games taht we had on the N64 against others? Now imagine playing COD or Halo now by urselves it would be pointless, so i think Online has only improved games

um do u remember playing halo down at the youth center, that was way funner then halo 3 online

I don't see how a game magically gets less fun when you are still playing with the same people and are able to talk to the same people.

I think if anything online has made us want to play games more.

i remember when i had a n64 and which i still have it. i would play good games and be on them for a while like space invaders and paper mario. those were good games and the good times

yah thats what i usually do but sometimes i tried the multi once or twice before i beat the game

I always play the story modes before i play multiplayer. I did it with Halo 3 and Cod5.

Yes, I actually liked both of those campaigns.

halo 3 campaign wasen't bad but cod waw campaign was really bad

The waw campaign was better then the halo 3 campaign in my opinion.

i didnt understand the halo 3 campaign cuase i didnt play 1 or 2 all i know is that i saved the world

i know we are of topic right now i want to say one thing before we get back on topic:in the third mission how do we call in artillery and is it marine naval ship artillery cuase i dont understand
