| At this point swine flu is much less of a threat to your welfare and health then the regular flu so I wouldn't get worried about it. There's been a major overreaction by a lot of people. | |

On the contrary, the healthy are actually more at threat than the elderly or weak, because their immune system overreacts to the virus... in much the same way it does with bird flu... however the chances of a worldwide pandemic are much the same as bird flu, its people taking precautions that is causing other people to panic... and of course the media in all its biased glory doesnt help.

| I mean look at the facts, less than 100 people have died of the disease, out of about a thousand cases of it being contracted across the globe (I dont know the exact figures) plus the medication to combat bird flu that countries have been stockpileing for years actually works on swine flu, so if you ask me we're in no real danger from it than we are the other million things that could kill us at any moment.
The media reports the facts, but puts its own opinion forward which most of the time contradicts those facts, or at least makes them seem worse than they are... and of course because the masses rely on other people to tell them what to do when they're told theres a crisis they panik... if theres even a fuel strike... even if its for just one day, people will queue at the pumps and take away gallons of petrol just because they can't think for themselves.

| This is VERY overrated. Swine flu is just another minor pandemic that killed some people and the media fucked it up. The media is telling us to "stay in doors, and kiss you childeren cause your probably not going to see them the next day." BULL-SHIT. I think as long as you keep a basic hygiene and watch what you eat, and watch who you are around. This should not be too much of a threat. | |

If I was in Obama's position I'd do the same thing. I don't think anyone is complaining but we're trying to explain to some people that they need to pull out the facts from these news stories and connect them to how they apply to you. I don't see a reason why there are already talks about closing schools. The media has and always will dwell on the "what ifs" and the so called "negative" stories.

You also should remember that ALL goverments are controlled by multi-billion dollar corporations (Movie References : The Corporation, The story of stuff <----can be found on the internet) who control U.S. and even Canada. We dont even know how this whole flu started (do we?) But my guess is its factory farming... With alot of meat that gets imported from mexico, there could be factory farming. Where there is factory farming, there is horrible living space and germs all over the place. It's basically a pandemic waiting to happen. Now im not saying its factory farming, but if it was, then this would explain the amount of cover-up that the goverments are doing (closing schools) Lastly in all of Canada there is only 13 friggen swine flu incidents, of which there has been no fatalities. Your telling me we should worry this much?

| i never said we should worry i said there's nothing we can do we can come up with theories and crack pot ideas but there isn't any thing we can do they don't care if there trying to cover it up go ahead i just think that if it was a cover up then they would close schools or go to such extreme measures i mean taking kids out of school is destroying america's future and why would they do that | |
