Reform????

OK so u guys have been talking about a reform in another thread. I've been thinking of ways to no just reinvent wfb but to do something new or unique with a forum.

I haven't come up with anything great yet but i did come up with one idea and if we did this it could just be a new site, not a replacement for wfb.

It would be a forum were the main purpose was to start topics, but topics only survive as long as there being responded too, like if i make a thread today and nobody posted in it by tommorow it would be archived. Of course some threads of extreme importance and stuff wouldn't be like that.

EDIT: Also theree would only be 2 forums(sections) one for the few permanent topics and one for everything else. This would add a competition factor with TRYING to make interesting topics that people will respond to so that they will stay on top.

Please leave questions/comments/other ideas(especially the last one)

Also i have not talked to the other admins so even if u guys like something it might not happen.

I really like that idea, its unique and very intuitive. However to do that would mean a complete change in the structure of the forum, how its run, you would need very active staff to enforce this, you would need to write strict guidlines for archiving so that staff dont just use their own judgement which could vary between different people. I would suggest if you want to make such a major change then start again from scratch and rebuild from the ground up. And once again great idea, i could have never thought of it.

yeah i was thinking of starting a whole new site because this was (supposed) to be manly a video game site and still looks like one. if we want all kinds of people we would have to make it more general. also i have learned things from this forum and stuff that i would do different if i were to start again(distribution of power)

Is that when you are gonna make a new site?

no days until a topic would be closed after not being replied in

at least until we got a good enough member count to support a competitive amount of topics a day

thinking of testing it with a section on this site but im not sure

also lpa and signal if u guys support the idea i could use people good with gimp/photoshop

well this is mostly a suggestion/discussion topic i haven't decided when i will even try it

but if i do decide to make a category to test it, it means ill prob release the actual site in about a week depending on whether i have help with images or not

I wouldnt call myself good with photoshop, however all the buttons and the forum skin on SHS I have made from scratch, so judge for yourself and if you need a hand i'd happily help.

That sounds like a great idea. Im not crazy about change, but it would be nice to see something like that actually work. If you need me to do anything for this, or if theres any way I can help, just ask.

Ill help making homo buttons and homo sigs...no but seriously ill make shit if you need.

One thing though, what about long topics. Like Koluigi's Romeo and Juliet thing, he couldn't post in that everyday as it took him a day or two to continue the story. Same with the game blogs, I can't update that everyday as I don't play the ps3 everyday.

well ive decided if i make this it wouldn't replace this site i would run both

and this one isn't going to be all gameing its supposed to be social with people trying to get replies and stuff

yes finally a social site....

That's a good idea, this is a social site for us, and we have a new site that may attract members.
