The Truth
The PS3 is a better system, but with its 6 or 8 cores, it is very hard to develop for, Valve has already announced they are stopping development of PS3 games, and Activision has threatened to drop the PS3 without a price drop. The CoD4 and WaW betas were 360 exclusives and there will be two timed exclusive map packs for the 360 because the community is that much better.
10 million sales of CoD4 on 360, around 4 on PS3

IT CAME OUT A YEAR EARLIER!!!!!! THUS GIVING IT MORE PEOPLE, FRIENDS WHO WAITED TO BUY ONE GOT 360s BECAUSE THEY KNEW PEOPLE WITH THEM!!!!!!! THUS GIVING THEM A BIGGER COMMUNITY AND SCREWING THE PS3 OVER!!!!!!!
